This was quite a bit of fun, to have the chance to speak with Pauline and Arthur Frommer about 100 Places in France on ABC Radio – the same day as my friend and colleague Lavinia Spalding. My interview, April 9 hour 1, here.
This is going to be an incredible night, at Book Passage, one of the best bookstores on earth. I will be one of several travel writers reading in this installment of Lisa Alpine‘s series, Titillating Adventure Travel Tales, As Told by an All-Star Cast. Read details of the event here.
Please join me for a talk and some wine and otherwise a really fun evening at Oliver Wolcott Library in Litchfield, CT, June 4 at 7 pm. I thanked the OWL in 100 PLACES IN FRANCE – it is a marvelous place.
My friend, editor Doug Clement, wrote this lovely piece for Connecticut Magazine online.
Chicago is one of the best cities in the world, and I love it, even in winter. In January, I gave a luncheon talk to a terrific group of curious women (and two men) about 100 Places in France. The venue was a fancy women’s club on Michigan Avenue. Book sales courtesy of The Book Stall .
These days, the budget is limited for touring or publicity. So I’m a one-person band in the direct promotion of my book that is gradually finding its audience. So it was my good luck and great pleasure to discover France Booktours, run by a dynamo named Emma. Each day, for ten days during my virtual book tour, 100 Places in France Every Woman Should Go was reviewed on individual blogs and posted on the main site as well. Over 600 people signed up for the giveaway, which not only shows Emma’s reach, but also proves the enduring fascination of France for women. Thank you! You can read all my reviews here.
