From the monthly archives: "November 2014"

Very happy that my story, ‘Waiting for the Sun in Vieques’ that first ran in Gadling is in Best Women’s Travel Writing Volume 10. Each year, this is always one of my most anticipated reads and editor Lavinia Spalding does an incredible job of curating and editing this anthology from Travelers’ Tales. Order the book here. I’m in incredible company, sharing the pages with some gifted female storytellers.

These days, the budget is limited for touring or publicity. So I’m a one-person band in the direct promotion of my book that is gradually finding its audience. So it was my good luck and great pleasure to discover France Booktours, run by a dynamo named Emma. Each day, for ten days during my virtual book tour, 100 Places in France Every Woman Should Go was reviewed on individual blogs and posted on the main site as well. Over 600 people signed up for the giveaway, which not only shows Emma’s reach, but also proves the enduring fascination of France for women. Thank you! You can read all my reviews here.

To celebrate, here is a cooler full of Veuve Clicquot.

As of November 1, 100 Places in France Every Woman Should Go is officially a New York Times Best Seller in the travel category. It’s thrilling, I have to confess. Thanks to everyone who has bought, shared, and shown up in support of this book. The independent bookstores: pages in Manhattan Beach, CA, Book Passage in Corte Madera, CA and Hickory Stick in Washington Depot, CT have done me and this book well.
