My first trip to the Riviera was when I was eighteen, and I’ve returned countless times. The Mediterranean is different there, the light so white, the air so piercing. It’s understandable why writers and artists have found fertile ground for their ideas there. In this article for Yahoo Travel, I point out some of my favorite places on the Côte d’Azur – but I did not include the house on the race in Villefranche I dream about, where I’d love to write one day.

I’ve wanted to write for Yahoo’s incredible Travel site since it was revamped and expanded, so I’ve been thrilled to be a regular contributor – especially as I’ve been traveling so often to France for the book. Plus, the editors are wonderful there. My first piece was about The Best Views in France. Here is one of them, from the Colline du Château in Nice.
